Pokemon Go! Nintendo’s First Video Game Made for Mobile Devices
September 18, 2015
It’s important that we here at Zanes Law satiate everyone’s blog topic appetite…
We may not get to everyone but today we serve those video game (aka Nerds) among us with a piece on what Nintendo is calling Pokemon Go.
Because we are not glued to our phones enough already, the monster gaming company has created it’s first video game made just for mobile devices.
Video game experts say it’s going to look nothing like any Pokemon game you’ve seen before…
The idea of Nintendo putting its energy into a mobile spin-off of one of its most beloved franchises might be necessarily concerning to longtime fans: when does this ever work out, after all?
To be honest… we aren’t sure of the success vs. failure rate of pikachu gone mobile…
But nonetheless fans of Pokemon and of gaming in general have been increasingly excited about the potential of Pokemon Go…
Some are musing that it shows more creativity than they’ve seen from Nintendo’s core franchises in year although Pokemon Go might reinvent the company…
Although still gray on the official launch date and eventual details of the game itself, he’s what sources have gathered thus far:
Launch Date: 2016… The agony!
Basic Idea of the Game: You collect Pokemon by travelling to locations in the real world, and then you can raise and battle them with others. In other words, the game taps into that primeval urge to hoard and collect, which some researchers say is one of the most powerful motivators of gaming behavior….
You know who you are candy crushes and farmvillers…
The mind reels with possibility in the least….
Maybe different countries will have exclusive Pokemon, and players will have to rely on international trade networks to complete their collections…
Maybe some Pokemon will only be found in hard to reach places….
Maybe you can take your Pokemon on trips to get it new powers, or take it jogging to get it some exercise…
Maybe you can go to Konami headquarters to battle Team Rocket….
For many, this feels like the first time in a long time where they are not sure where a Nintendo game can head to…
And for others this game will be pure nostalgia!
Either way, you know the drill – NO GAMING WHILE DRIVING!
