Now that you are fully equipped with the most important part of Spring Training… did you know that Spring Training under the warm Arizona sun has been a tradition for raving fans since 1947?!
It started with just two teams – the Cleveland Indians and the New York Giants, coming to Arizona to prepare for the rigors of the long regular season… Now, for those of you a little lost on what the heck Spring Training is, it’s not gearing
up for a Spring Cleaning of the house (although some of us definitely need a warm up before digging into that cluttered closet…)
No, no in Major League Baseball, spring training is a series of practices and exhibition games before the start of the regular season. Spring training allows new players to try out for roster and position spots, and gives existing team players practice time prior to competitive play…. essentially a long-term warm up before the real games begin!
So now that we are all on the same page… Let’s talk teams and who’s going to the field for some baseball training!
