Kids Save a School Bus From Crashing
Do you remember our post about the 14 year old being at the right place at the right time when that car careened off a bridge?
Well, when we said be at the right place at the right time, these kids that saved their school bus from crashing were literally IN the WRONG place but acted at just the right time!
A bus driver in upstate Washington, with a full bus of kids, passed out from a heart attack but lucky for the kids on the bus, one young boy darted to the front of the bus…
Surveillance shows that the bus driver unexpected passes out and it was only moments later that a few kids notice!
That’s when 7th grader Jeremy Wuitschick notices that the bus driver is no longer holding the wheel and jumps toward the front of the bus as it careened toward a nearby church…
Wuitschick said he acted on instinct and jerked the wheel to the right side of the road before pulling the keys out of the ignition making the engine of the speeding bus come to a halt.
But it doesn’t end there – as the bus came to a slow, another student, Johnny Wood came to the rescue of the bus driver with CPR that he had recently learned…
The young boy performed chest compression but he could tell that “it was getting harder for him to breathe”
It was at this point that other students called 911….
Wuitschick told the news that his instinct was in part from watching one of his favorite superheros in a similar situation in which the hero stopped a bus headed for disaster by pulling the keys from the ignition…
Alas a reason to let our children watch some good old fashion TV!
Needless to say, all the children got off the bus alive that day… Oh Happy Endings!
