This is especially true when the accident is the result of someone driving under the influence of alcohol. One family is now facing such a tragedy after a motorist suspected driving under the influence of alcohol resulted in a fiery crash on Monday, January 28th and ended in one woman’s death.
Local CBS station 3TV reported on their website that the accident occurred in the early morning hours at approximately 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Brown Road and Val Vista Drive.
A Mesa Police Department spokesperson said in a statement that a local hospital employee, Silvia Arriolla, was killed in the crash after a vehicle driven by Timothy Vaughn, 56, rear-ended her vehicle causing it to catch caught fire.

Police say that there were two additional people in the vehicle with Arriolla, but did not immediately release their identity. In an updated story appearing on the ABC 15 website, it is reported that an off-duty police officer had attempted to free Arriolla but was unable to do so.
Arriolla was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mesa Police officers at the scene of the fatal crash placed Vaughn under arrest under the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He is currently facing the charge of manslaughter and placed on a $1,000,000 bond.
Vaughn is due to appear in court on Monday, February 4th.
