The promising future of an up and coming Indie band from the UK was tragically cut short in a wrong-way crash on an Arizona highway late last month.
According to a story reported by Fox 11 in Phoenix, both members of the band, Her’s were killed along with their tour manager. A pickup truck traveling eastbound on the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 struck their vehicle at approximately 1:00 a.m. on March 29th.
The victims have been identified by the Arizona Department of Public Safety as Stephen Fitzpatrick, 24, and Audun Laading, 25, of the UK and their tour manager, Trevor Engelbrektson, 37 of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The British musical duo had just performed a sold-out show at the Rebel Lounge in Phoenix. They were on their way to the next performance venue in Southern California when the van they were traveling in was hit head-on by a wrong way driver.
Both the van and the pickup truck being driven by 63-year-old Francisco Rebollar of Murrieta, California burst into flame. All four people were declared dead at the scene of the crash.
Arizona Department of Public Safety investigating the scene reported having found an open container of alcohol at the scene of the fatal crash. However, law enforcement officials were uncertain as to which driver or passenger might have been drinking at the time of the accident.
Widespread grief and condolences were expressed both on the marquee of the Rebel Lounge and throughout social media at the loss of the lives and talent of the Liverpool band.
