Hit-and-run accidents are dangerous in that the victim left behind may not receive timely assistance if they are seriously injured. Police in Glendale is asking for the public’s help in locating the driver of a rental truck who struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene of the crash.
ABC 15 in Phoenix reported on their website that the incident happened near the intersection of 51st Avenue and Grand Avenue on Wednesday, June 24th, shortly after 2:00 p.m. when the driver of a Budget rental truck struck a 25-year-old man. The driver of the truck did not stop and did not attempt to render aid to the victim.
Emergency crews responded to the scene of the crash. The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital for treatment. He is currently listed in critical condition. Authorities did not release his identity at the time of the report.
Traffic in all directions from 47th Avenue to 556th Avenue and Northwest Grand Avenue was closed to traffic while police conducted their investigations.

The Glendale Police Department is now asking for the public’s assistance in locating the truck and the person responsible for the crash. In a Tweet, Glendale Police describe the vehicle as being a possible rental truck, measuring between 15 feet and 18 feet in length.
