The Family Of A Country Legend Mourns The Loss Of His Daughter

No matter who you are, losing a loved one in an accident can happen at any time.  It’s the kind of tragedy that has struck the family of country music legend Hank Williams Jr. is experiencing after his 27-year-old daughter, Katherine Williams-Dunning, was killed in a car accident in Tennessee over the weekend.

According to the story appearing on the ABC 15 on Phoenix website, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that the fatal crash happened on Saturday, June 13th, at approximately 7:45 p.m.

Authorities say that Williams-Denning had been driving southbound on Highway 79 in a Chevrolet Tahoe towing a boat. Denning’s husband, 29-year-old Tyler J. Dunning, was a passenger in the vehicle when she lost control of the rig.

The SUV and trailer hit a center dividing median into the northbound lanes of the highway, triggering a rollover. The vehicle finally came to rest on the opposite side of the roadway.

Katherine Williams-Dennings was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her husband was flown to Vanderbilt University  Medical Center for treatment of injuries he suffered in the crash. Dennings’ current condition had not been released at the time of the report.

A spokesperson for the Tennessee Highway Patrol told reporters that the cause of the crash is unknown and that,” This is an active investigation and more details will be made available later.

Ms. Williams-Dennings was the youngest of five children of 71-year-old country music star, Hank Williams Jr.
