Man Runs Over Mother And Her Children, Flees The Scene

It’s unimaginable that anyone would harm another person – especially a mother and her children and then callously leave the scene. That is the scenario that unfolded in Phoenix earlier this month. The suspect in the hit-and-run case is still at large.

KTAR 92. 3 FM in Phoenix reported on their website that the accident happened at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday. A man driving a Volkswagen Passat struck a 25-year-old woman and her three children as she was attempting to cross the intersection of 70th Avenue and Indian School Road with her three children who are 5, 3, and 2 years of age.

A spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department, Sgt. Tommy Thompson said in a statement that when the driver struck the mother and children, a two-year-old girl who was strapped into her stroller got dragged under his car. He continued to drag the stroller and child for approximately 1,000 feet before stopping at a stop sign. It was then that the driver of the Volkswagen was told by someone that he was dragging someone under his vehicle.

Eyewitnesses helped free the child out from under the vehicle. The driver then got back into his car and fled the scene. His license number was taken down by witnesses and given to the authorities.

The mother and her children were taken to the hospital, and all are listed in critical condition.

Phoenix Police are looking for a Volkswagen Passat with the Arizona license plate number, AGB3745. Anyone with any information regarding the case is asked to contact the authorities immediately.
