An accident can happen anytime and anywhere. According to the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), the majority of motor vehicle accidents that end in fatality occur between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m. That was the time of day when a fatal crash in central Las Vegas happened early last month, ending in the death of a North Las Vegas man.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has identified the man who was killed in a crash in central Las Vegas early last month. Fox5 in Las Vegas reports that authorities have released the identity of the victim as Manuel Kepilino, 52, of North Las Vegas.
Kepilino died after his 1964 Volkswagen Beetle collided with a 2013 Hyundai Tucson at the intersection of West Sahara Avenue and South Decatur Boulevard on Sunday, March 3rd.
The driver of the Hyundai, 24-year-old Renita Bos and two passengers had been heading southbound on Decatur Boulevard. At approximately 12:30 a.m. Kepilino attempted a left-hand turn from Decatur Boulevard onto Sahara Avenue when Bos’ vehicle struck his Volkswagen.

Authorities say that Kepilino was rushed to University Medical Center where he later died as the result of injuries he sustained in the crash. After an autopsy, the Clark County Coroner’s Office has determined that Kepilino’s death was an accident and was caused by multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Bos and her two passengers only suffered minor injuries. Las Vegas Metro Police said that Bos showed no signs of intoxication of either drugs or alcohol at the time of the fatal accident. While no charges have been filed, Metro Police has said that the crash is still currently under investigation.
