Nothing can be more terrifying to a parent than when their child is injured in an accident. Toddlers are exceptionally quick and can get themselves into trouble in what might seem like the blink of an eye. A moment of inattention can quickly turn into a tragedy.
Sadly, it would appear that inattention may have been the cause of a potential drowning incident on April 7th. A young two-year-old was found floating face down in a swimming pool in Mesa on Tuesday.
According to a report appearing on the ABC 15 Phoenix website, the child is now listed in critical condition. Updates on her well-being have not been released to the public.

A spokesperson for the Mesa Fire Department told ABC in a statement that the incident happened at a private residence in Mesa located near Higley Road and Broadway Road. A family member who had been watching the little girl at the time had gone inside the house for a brief moment. By the time they returned, the child had already fallen into the swimming pool.
Emergency crews and paramedics arrived on the scene and performed lifesaving measures on the child. The toddler was rushed via ambulance to an area hospital for emergency treatment. She is currently listed in critical condition.
The incident is still under investigation by law enforcement, and currently, no charges have been filed against the child’s parents. No further information about the near-drowning event has been released at this time.
