KOLD News 13 in Phoenix reports that while such crashes are rare, that’s exactly what happened to one Phoenix family living in the 5000 block of South Park Avenue recently.
Phoenix Police have arrested Jesus Blackie Martinez, 37, after he crashed his pickup truck into the home of an unidentified family. Two children who were inside the house at the time suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Two people who were riding inside the pickup truck with Martinez also suffered minor injuries from the accident.
Police investigators said in a statement to reporters that Martinez lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the home.
Martinez is currently facing multiple felonies, including driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault, aggravated DUI, and criminal endangerment.
City building inspectors were at the location to determine the extent of the damage and the structural integrity caused to the house. Officials have deemed it unsafe for habitation.
