Fox10 in Phoenix aired a story on Thursday, February 28th on the crash that happened in an area often frequented by tourists. The entire incident was captured on video. Earlier that morning security video from the Lantern Inn and Suites located on U.S. Highway 41 in Sarasota, Florida showed what happened.
A Kia minivan was turning into a gas station and pulled out in front of a black Audi being driven by 19-year-old Jackson Kelley of Bradenton. Footage shows that the teen attempted to avoid a collision with the minivan but the larger vehicle clipped the Audi, causing it to roll over multiple times. The Audi can be seen rolling at least three times through the Lantern Inn parking lot before hitting a concrete barrier wall.
The driver of the minivan waited just seven seconds before driving away from the scene of the accident.

One of the guests, Don Fuchs of Ohio, had just come out of his hotel room to hang a t-shirt over the railing when he heard the crash. Fuchs described it as “sounding like a big bomb went off.” Fuchs and another guest who had been loading items into her car instinctively rushed to the Audi and offered help.
They found Kelley unconscious and partially ejected from his vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still looking for the driver of the Kia minivan that caused the crash and are asking anyone with information to contact them at (941) 751-8350.
