Any parent will tell you that being a mother or father comes with certain levels of stress from time to time. It’s usually a good idea for mothers, fathers and other caregivers to find some ways to relieve the pressure of dealing with the challenges at the end of the day. There’s nothing wrong with having an occasional drink at the end of the day for example. However, getting into a vehicle after drinking and with children in the car with you is never a good idea.

One mother did just that and was arrested after getting into a two-vehicle crash while her three young children were in the car with her. ABC 15 in Phoenix reported on their website on Wednesday, September 25th, that the mother of three, Karen Anne Stowe, 28, was arrested for “extreme DUI.” The incident happened on September 19th that happened near the intersection of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Deer Valley Road.
Authorities say that Stowe had three children in the car with her at the time of the crash; all three children were under six years of age.
A Breathalyzer test was administered to Stowe at the scene of the crash and found that she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.274 percent – more than three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Stowe was arrested by police and taken into custody while family members were contacted to take custody of the three children at the scene.
Court records indicate that Stowe has had previous arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol.
