Man Shot In The Nose During Road Rage Incident On The Loop 101

Police have arrested a man after an alleged road rage incident which ended in a motorist being shot in the nose on the Loop 101 last month.

ABC 15 in Phoenix reports that police have arrested Tevin Monroe Hayes, 32, for his role in the incident that took place on August 19th near the 59th Avenue ramp.

Police say that 911 dispatch received multiple calls of the incident as Hayes rammed his vehicle numerous times into the vehicle of the man who was later shot. Also in the victim’s pickup truck was his four-year-old son who witnessed the incident.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released by authorities, told police that he switched lanes to allow Hayes to pass him. Instead, Hayes followed the victim to the next exit ramp where he rammed his vehicle into the victim’s pickup truck.

Court records indicate that Hayes then pulled a gun on the victim who tried to flee from Hayes who caught up to him once again on the 59th Avenue exit ramp. This time, Hayes pointed his gun at the victim, firing one shot that hit him in the nose.

Police caught up to Hayes and questioned him about the incident. Hayes claimed that the shooting was unintentional and that he was aware of the small child that was in the vehicle with the victim.

Hayes is currently facing charges which include one count of aggravated assault and one count of child endangerment.
