Elderly Victim Dies Two Months After Crash In Tuscon

A 75-year-old victim of a crash that happened two months ago has died on Monday, December 9th, as a result of the injuries she suffered in the crash.

In an article appearing on the Patch.com website, Tucson Police said that the October 1st crash happened at the intersection of West Via Ingreso and South Mission Road. At approximately 7:00 a.m., a 2006 Ford Expedition and a 1996 Ford Ranger collided. The crash caused the Expedition to hit a Honda Odyssey minivan.

Emergency crews from the Tucson Fire Department arrived at the scene to treat those who were injured in the crash. The occupants of both the Expedition and the Ranger were taken to Banner University Medical Center for treatment of injuries ranging from serious to life-threatening.

The driver of the Honda minivan was uninjured in the crash.

Authorities have identified the victim as Clovis Isaacs, 75.  Isaacs was riding at Expedition as a passenger at the time of the initial crash.

Investigators determined that the driver of the Expedition failed to yield when making a left turn in front of the Ford Ranger, causing the initial crash. Speed and intoxication were both ruled out as factors in the accident. The driver of the Expedition, whose name has not been released, was cited for failure to yield while making a left-hand turn.

The case has been referred to the Tucson Police Department.  As the investigation continues, officials say that the driver of the Expedition may be facing additional charges.
