Pima County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a woman after she allegedly hit another woman with her SUV multiple times on Saturday, February 29th.
The ABC affiliate in Phoenix reports that Pima County Sheriff’s deputies received a call at approximately 8:00 P.M. on Saturday from an eyewitness in Casa Grande who said a woman had been intentionally run over and was lying in the street.
The PCSO has arrested Chandra Eckert on the charge of first-degree murder.
A male eyewitness to the incident told PCSO deputies that he had seen a woman attempting to run away from a dark blue SUV that then hit the fleeing woman.

Sheriff’s investigators were able to obtain video surveillance video from a home in the neighborhood near where the incident occurred. The video and audio footage showed the SUV, squealing tires, a revving engine, shouts to call 911, and then a woman’s terrified scream. A second woman’s voice can be heard screaming profanities.
A second eyewitness to the crash said that they had seen one of the women trying unsuccessfully to load the victim of the crash into the SUV, while a third witness told authorities that Eckert had made repeated threats to the victim regarding a breakup between the suspect and her boyfriend.
Deputies located the dark blue SUV in a canal the following morning just 2 miles away from the scene of the hit-and-run crash. A shoe impression taken from the scene of the fatal crash matched that of one belonging to the suspect.
Eckert was later located in Coolidge and placed under arrest for murder.
A judge has placed a bond on Eckert for $250,000.
