A fatal and sudden chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles that happened on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the crash has left one person dead and two others hurt.
According to the report appearing on the AZ Family website, at approximately 5:00 P.M., a white sedan was heading southbound on Seventh Street. While attempting to make a left turn at the intersection of Seventh and Dunlap, the sedan collided with a white pickup truck. The impact of the crash was so strong that the sedan propelled the vehicle into the path of a minivan.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene of the crash and rushed to help the drivers and passengers of the vehicles. After investigating the sedan, they pronounced a male passenger in the sedan dead at the scene of the crash. His identity has been withheld at this time pending notification of family members.
The female driver of the sedan also suffered injuries in the crash. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. She is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital. He is also expected to recover from his injuries.
Authorities say no one in the minivan was hurt in the crash.
Circumstances surrounding the accident are still currently under investigation. Phoenix Police Department investigators have not ruled out impairment from alcohol or drugs as a possible contributor to the crash.
So far, no charges have been filed in the case.
