On the morning of Monday, January 6th, Rasho was driving a 2008 Infiniti southbound on 43rd Avenue when his vehicle collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Impala being driven by a 38-year-old woman at approximately 8:00 a.m. Inside the Impala were the woman’s four children, ranging in age from 9 years old to 15 years old. One child, a 12-year-old girl, was left critically injured in the crash and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say that Rasho drove away from the scene of the crash, but was later apprehended by officers on 10300 block of 43rd Avenue and placed under arrest.
On Tuesday, January 7th, a spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department issued a statement and said that investigators believe that Rasho, who does not have a valid driver’s license, was also impaired at the time of the crash.
Rasho is due to appear in Maricopa County Superior Court facing the charges of aggravated DUI and two drug-related violations on January 30th. The most recent allegations against Rasho include a citation for driving without a valid driver’s license on December 30, 201
Court records indicate that Rasho has had a series of alcohol and drug-related offenses going back as far as 2004. Most of the prior charges were dismissed when he pleaded to other charges.
