Man Crashes Vehicle Into Pawn Shop, Driver Arrested

When looking at the aftermath of some crashes, it can almost seem miraculous that anyone walked away alive, let alone with non-life-threatening injuries.

That’s what happened in a crash that occurred at a Phoenix pawn shop on Sunday, August 4th. The AZ Family reported on its website that one man was arrested after crashing his vehicle into the shop located near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Baseline Road.

Eyewitness Reigna Robles was traveling eastbound on Baseline Road at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 4th when she witnessed a southbound motorist that blew through the intersection, going at what she estimated was 120 miles per hour. The driver narrowly missed hitting Robles. “I saw my life flash before my eyes,” she told CBS.

The vehicle crashed through a concrete barrier and into the pawn shop. Robles and crews responding to the crash were amazed that the 18-year-old male driver was able to get out of such a seemingly horrific accident with only minor injuries.

Phoenix Police officers responding to the scene determined that the driver had been driving under the influence. He was arrested at the scene and is facing the DUI and other related charges in the incident.

Even construction crews who are cleaning up after the accident are surprised that things didn’t turn out much worse.

Workers at the pawn shop estimate that it could remain closed for another week before the repairs are completed.
