We LOVE the “Love of Reading Week”.

by Doug Zanes | Last Updated: February 11, 2015

This week, we are thrilled to announce that we’ve accepted an invitation from one of our wonderful teacher-friends, Raquel, who has invited Zanes Law to read to her students at Drexel Elementary School for the “Love of Reading Week.”

By bringing outside guests in to read to classrooms of all grades, the “Love of Reading Week” is designed to underscore the importance of reading and the intrinsic value it plays in advancing our minds and education.

These days, events like the “Love of Reading Week” have become even more important as our lives, and most certainly the lives of our children have become inundated with technologies that can diminish and detract from the importance of a reading-focused education.

Here, at Zanes Law, we remain committed to activities designed to serve the needs of our community and look forward to working with Raquel and the students of Drexel Elementary.

Now some history on our dear teacher-friend, Raquel!

Raquel has actually been a part of our annual Zanes Law School Supply giveaway where we collect and distribute school supplies to teachers around Tucson, Arizona since its inception four years ago.

We first “met” Raquel at our school supply giveaway; however, her ties to Zanes Law actually run much deeper. Raquel and our managing attorney Doug Zanes both went to school in Douglas, Arizona. Naturally, Raquel and Doug were excited to reconnect and it has felt like Raquel has always been a part of the Zanes Law family.

Year after year, we have looked forward to seeing Raquel and her husband (who is also a teacher) at our school supply giveaway. Now, we’re looking forward to seeing Raquel in action as a teacher!

It’s truly  special to connect with the teachers throughout the school year through activities such as these and see full circle how events like our school supply giveaway continues to support their students’ learning environment.

Doug Zanes: Founding Attorney Raised in Douglas, Arizona, and went to college at Arizona State University and graduated from law school at St. Mary’s University School of Law in Texas. Doug began practicing law in Phoenix Arizona in 1997.
