A Man Loses His Life In An ATV Crash After Attending A Party

One man is dead after he lost control of his ATV in Tucson on Sunday morning.  The Tucson Police Department is asking for the public’s help for its investigation into the incident.

Station 9 KGUN in Tucson reports that the accident happened in the 800 Block of West Calle Aragon early Sunday morning. Both the Tucson Police Department and Tucson Fire Department were called to the scene of the crash which involved the ATV and a parked vehicle.

Paramedics with the Tucson Fire Department arrived on the scene and began immediately to render aid to the ATV driver.  Emergency crews attempted to rush the driver to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. According to the statement issued by Tucson officials, however, the man died while en route to the hospital.

The driver has been identified as 23-year-old Jesus H. Lamadrid of Tucson.

Interviews regarding the incident and roadway evidence gathered at the scene by TPD investigators indicate that Lamadrid was driving his 2008 Suzuki Quadsport ATV westbound on Calle Arragon at high speed when he lost control of his vehicle. He was ejected into the roadway. The ATV continued running and ran into a parked passenger vehicle and a wooden fence before coming to a stop.

Investigators say that Lamadrid was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Friends of the victim were interviewed and told TPD officers that Lamadrid had left a party with the ATV.  When he did not return, his friends went out to look for him. Finding him lying in the roadway, they dialed 911.  Friends also told investigators that Lamadrid had been drinking prior to the crash.

The fatal crash is currently under investigation. The Tucson Police Department is asking anyone with any information to call police directly or leave an anonymous tip at  88-CRIME.
