In yesterday’s blog post we discussed the difference between Class Action Lawsuits and Mass Tort Lawsuits. Click here if you didn’t read it yet!
Today we want to discuss a couple of examples.
Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao Boxing Match
One of the biggest boxing matches in history happened last week and everyone left with a few bruises…
This is a great example of a manipulative business practice class action…
According to sources, Pacquiao had injured his shoulder a few weeks prior to the match of the century…
But no one knew…
Well for those of you not into boxing, this is a betting kind of game…
People bringing the suit are claiming that had they known about Pacquiao’s hurt shoulder, their betting dollars may have gone elsewhere. Others are arguing for ticket costs and more.
This particular suit involved attorneys from Los Angeles and Las Vegas… The price tag on this class action?
Five Million Dollars (give or take).
Vioxx, The Anti-Inflammatory Drug
We’ve seen the commercials for these mass tort claims across the TV screen at 2am…
“If you or a loved one have suffered from….Call…”
Vioxx was one of those products causing major health issues and many deaths. In fact, the suit brings for the major claim that it should have never been on the market to begin with.
This was a mass tort claiming involving tens of thousands of individuals across the country and hundreds of attorneys across the board.
Hundreds of millions of dollars.
At Zanes Law we handle both class action and mass tort claims. If you believe you have been a victim of either claim, please give us a call and let us help you through the process!
